Every Nexus founder goes through a multi-stage vetting process. Founders are identified through University of Tokyo's research labs and startup programs, then evaluated against JST's criteria for scientific rigor, market potential, and founder quality.

Only the strongest early-stage companies — typically pre-seed through seed — advance into the Nexus cohort. These founders receive government-backed non-dilutive capital from JST, StartX-style acceleration programming, and introduction to Nexus's US investor network.
